Hello, I'm Jennifer

I've been a nurse for 21 years.  Caring for others is my calling, and I live out my calling daily by working with persons in need of advocacy, policies that work, and guidance to get help.

This clinic is a dream come true for me.  I long to show others the compassion that has been shown to me, and seek to help guide you into a life that you love.

I provide care on evenings and weekends around my full time role.  It's my passion to serve women who are worn out.

My Why

As a life long Little Rocker, I'm home.  I won't be moving away or changing towns; and I'm here to walk with you for the next 15-20 years (if you need it).  I sincerely care about everyone I meet, and my reputation is stellar both as a clinician and a person of integrity.

I've dedicated my life (since age 18 as a nurses aide, age 19 as an LPN, age 21 as an RN, age 27 as an acute care APRN, and now at age 40 as a psychiatric mental health APRN) to care for others through multiple levels of nursing licensure, several medical specialities and multiple roles (both professional and volunteer) providing service to others in need.  I'm most passionate about caring for women.  Women bear so many burdens, and as a result of the changes to our bodies from chronic stress, have most of the autoimmune diseases diagnosed in our country.  These autoimmune diseases affect every facet of life, yet are dismissed and largely go untreated until certain parameters are met.

I believe in the mind body connection, that the body does indeed keep the score, and that we cannot effectively treat physical illness without reviewing, understanding, and treating the effects of chronic stress, anxiety, and depression that come along with being a woman in our society.  I believe in cyclical living, optimizing hormones at every stage of womanhood, considering hormonal shifts and their effects as we age, and recognize the impact of the stress of modern life on our bodies (and the resulting autoimmune conditions and suffering).

Treatment for mental health is more than medication.  In my role as a psychiatric mental health APRN, we are experts at medication management and psychopharmacology.  I have sought out more training for therapy modalities as I am passionate about holistic care, not just another prescription.  That's why I offer therapy services within my scope of practice and education as a PMHNP, and seek to connect you to the best medical and psychological care available for holistic views of your conditions and symptoms.  Your improved physical and mental wellness is the overall goal of my practice, and led me to name the practice Pulaski Heights Wellness Clinic.  As a lifelong Little Rocker and 10+ year resident of the Hillcrest neighborhood in the heart of Little Rock, having a practice near my home and in my hometown was vital to me as I build a lasting relationship with the patients who honor me with their lives and stories.

I've been planning this clinic (and supporting the advancement of the nurse practitioner profession in Arkansas) for years, and every day I get to serve others with integrity and grace is a joy.
